Dawn Horner-Wilson
Dawn is a Person-Centered, Integrative Counselling Therapist with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology. She is a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) and a professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
Dawn is passionate about creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space where every individual feels heard, supported, and valued. She believes that healing begins with feeling understood and works collaboratively with clients to help them navigate life’s challenges while building resilience, confidence, and hope.
She has extensive experience supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, PTSD, intimate partner violence, and addiction. Dawn has advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based approach used to help process traumatic experiences and reduce the impact they have on everyday life.
Dawn is an approved provider for several funding programs, including Victims Services, Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB), the Indian Residential Schools Counselling Program (IRS), the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Health Support Program (MMIWG), Indian Day Schools (IDS), Veterans Affairs Canada, Workplace Safety & Insurance (WCB, with case worker approval), as well as select extended health benefit providers including Sun Life, Blue Cross, Canada Life, and the Chamber of Commerce. Additional insurance providers may be accepted on a case-by-case basis, and direct billing is available whenever possible.
