Frequently Asked Questions:
What can I expect during my first massage appointment?
Your Registered Massage Therapist will discuss your health history, current concerns, and treatment goals before beginning your session. They will explain the treatment plan, answer any questions you have, and ensure you’re comfortable throughout your appointment.
Can massage therapy help with more than relaxation?
Absolutely! While massage therapy is excellent for relaxation and stress relief, it can also help reduce muscle tension, improve mobility, support injury recovery, relieve headaches, manage TMJ dysfunction, improve circulation, and decrease pain.
Do I need a doctors referral?
No. A doctor’s referral is not required to book a massage appointment. You can book directly with one of our massage therapists at any time. Some extended health benefit plans may require a referral for reimbursement, so we recommend checking with your insurance provider if you have questions about your coverage.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear whatever you’re most comfortable in. Depending on the area being treated, your therapist may ask you to undress to your comfort level. Professional draping is always used, and only the area being treated will be uncovered.
How often should I get a massage?
The frequency of treatment depends on your goals, symptoms, and overall health. Some people benefit from regular maintenance visits, while others attend only when symptoms arise. Your massage therapist will recommend a treatment plan that’s right for you.
